CITIZEN ANNOUNCES ITS CONTINUED PREMIERSHIP RUGBY SPONSORSHIP DEAL

CITIZEN Watch UK is delighted to announce its continued status as the Official Timekeeper of Premiership Rugby, marking its sponsorship deal for the fifth consecutive year with the world’s most competitive domestic rugby union competition. Working closely with Premiership Rugby, Citizen will continue to raise awareness of its core Eco-Drive Collections within the rugby community nationwide, supporting the company’s on-going strategy to grow brand awareness amongst consumers aged 35-55yrs.


Citizen will continue to receive branding on the LED stadium perimeter boards and stadium clocks as well as on screen TV branding. With nearly 14,000 fans on average attending each game, 2.5 million fans attending the entire season and 6 million fans in the UK actively engaging with Premiership Rugby through both attendance, TV and online coverage, Citizen’s brand reach will be unrivalled. This kind of visibility in-stadium also has international remunerations for Citizen, more than 200 countries including all major rugby playing nations tune into the games, meaning Citizen will receive more than 600 million reach into foreign homes.


Citizen will also continue its branding rights of ‘Try of the Week’ and ‘Try of the Month’. Try of the Month will be covered in the C5 highlights show and C5 live matches, which has a phenomenal viewing audience of over 440,000 and the content will also be used by BT Sport which receives 417,000 viewers in a weekend - meaning per season Citizen will reach over 30 million in total. Both Citizen and Premiership Rugby will promote the collaboration through digital communications, including a presence on the PRL website, e-zines, and via online banners.

The first televised match of the season airs on BT Sport on Friday 31 August as newly promoted Bristol Bears host local rivals Bath Rugby at Ashton Gate.
