WATER RESISTANCE GUIDE
There are various levels of water resistance. To check the water resistance of your watch, please see the water resistance level indicated on the case back. You should use your watch appropriately corresponding to its water resistance level.
If the rating is marked in bar then the equivalent pressure ratings are 10 ATM = 100 metres, 20 ATM = 200 metres. To understand what purpose you can use your watch for please see the chart below.

3 ATM
30 Metres
Can withstand water splashes such as hand washing and light rain.
Not suitable for swimming or snorkelling.

5 ATM
50 Metres
Can handle splashes and light swimming.
Swimming is possible but should generally be avoided.

10 ATM
100 Metres
Suitable for snorkelling, scuba diving and other water sports.
Safe to use in a variety of water activites.

20 ATM
200 Metres
Safe for scuba diving.
Should not be used for diving with helium unless equipped with helium valve.
MAINTAINING WATER RESISTANCE
To ensure that they are resistant to water, water resistant watches use components known as water resistant gaskets around watch parts such as the case back, crown and watch glass.
Over long periods of use, water resistant gaskets may lose their elasticity and become brittle or crack easily due to exposure to sweat and moisture. In addition, scratches or chips in the glass or other structural problems can combine to reduce the water resistance of a water-resistant watch. To maintain the water resistance of your watch, it is recommended that you not only use the watch appropriately, but that you also have your watch serviced regularly.
• For watches with replaceable batteries, water resistant gaskets are also replaced during battery replacement.
• For Eco-Drive watches and other watches that do not require regular battery replacement, we recommend that the water resistant gaskets be replaced every 2-3 years.
If water ever gets inside your watch, immediately stop using it and take it in for repairs. Water inside a watch can damage parts such as the mechanism, precision electronic components or the dial.
